At New Leaf Centre, we are a dedicated team of experienced professionals specialising in supporting neurodivergent children, young people, and those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Our expertise spans a wide range of complex conditions including Autism, ADHD, Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), Tourette's Syndrome, Dyslexia, and Dyspraxia. Our mission is to provide personalised and compassionate care that empowers each individual to thrive. With a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by neurodivergent individuals, we tailor our approach to meet the specific needs of each child or young person.

We proudly collaborate with our sister company, Jigsaw Family Support www.jigsawfamilysupport.uk which specialises in helping individuals engage positively with education. This partnership allows us to provide comprehensive, outreach, support packages for those who struggle to leave the home.

Our team is committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can feel understood, supported, and valued. We believe in the potential of every individual and are passionate about making a positive difference in their lives. Through collaborative and innovative practices, we strive to unlock opportunities for growth, learning, and development.

Our Mission

At the heart of New Leaf Centre is our unwavering mission to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where neurodivergent young people and those with SEMH feel a genuine sense of belonging.

We exist to support those whose past experiences may have been exclusionary or distressing and they may have felt marginalised by traditional education systems.

By prioritising connection, compassion, and individual strengths, we empower our learners to rebuild confidence, re-engage with their education, and rediscover a love for learning.

Our Core Values

  • Respect for Neurodiversity -  We celebrate, value and respect neurodiversity, recognising the unique strengths, perspectives, and needs of every learner.

  • Tailored Learning Journeys  - Personalised education that is interest based, responsive and flexible. We aim to re-engage young people with learning by creating safe, empowering and meaningful experiences.

  • Emotionally Safe Practice - We understand that behaviour is a form of communication and respond with empathy, patience, and curiosity rather than judgement.

  • Consistency and Stability - We provide calm, predictable and consistent responses to promote a sense of safety and security for our learners.

  • Flexibility and Individualised Support - We adapt our approaches to meet the unique needs, interests and profiles of each learner.

  • Celebration of Progress - We recognise that progress looks different for every learner. No step is too small to celebrate - every achievement matters.

  • Collaboration and Voice - We work in partnership with learners, families and professionals, ensuring that every voice is heard and valued in shaping support.

  • Reflection and Growth - We continuously develop our practice, through shared learning, professional dialogue, and ongoing CPD, including training, research and collaborative practice.

Community as Curriculum

At New Leaf Centre, we recognise that learning doesn't just happen in formal lessons - it emerges through meaningful connections. We are a community, where:

  • Peer relationships develop naturally around shared interests and understanding.

  • Mentors provide consistent support and guidance, helping learners build meaningful friendships and social confidence.

  • Collective knowledge and diverse perspectives enrich everyone's experience

  • Peer support networks

A Place for Renewal and Recovery

Many of our learners arrive after difficult experiences in conventional education. New Leaf Centre provides:

  • A gentle step back into structured learning

  • Time and space to process educational trauma

  • Tools for understanding sensory needs and cognitive differences

  • Strategies for managing anxiety and building confidence

  • Opportunities to discover the natural joy of learning

The Future We See

New Leaf Centre is a place that cultivates a generation of neurodivergent young people who:

  • Deeply understand and value their unique cognitive styles

  • Possess the academic foundations needed for future success

  • Can advocate effectively for their needs in diverse settings

  • Carry a sense of belonging and connection rather than isolation

  • Have discovered how their minds can contribute uniquely to the world

  • Approach their futures with confidence, creativity, and self-knowledge

  • Will become the next generation of outside-the-box, innovative thinkers

New Leaf Centre isn't just about accommodating difference - it's about celebrating it, nurturing it, and revealing how neurodivergent thinking is essential to solving the complex challenges of tomorrow.
